Actually Master Rod was owned by Penn, but to my knowledge Penn did not manufacture any of the Master or Roddy stuff.. They may have marketed some of the master rods under the Penn name, but not the reels to my knowledge. Penn also does not offer any replacement parts for Roddy reels. As other have noted, this is mostly lower end stuff, but may be well suited as your "loaner" tackle. Although, you may want to seek out more common mainstream brands to avail yourself to replacement parts. As with any of the low end tackle, you will also want to be more thorough when cleaning/storing after use, as they usually don't resist corrosion as well as higher end models
