9/12 Fish Monger Bottom Fishing
« on: September 12, 2008, 07:58:28 PM »
Weather man got us today,

Headed out with 3 other mongers to see what type of bite was going on the inshore wrecks. Plan was to start of inshore then head deeper for a few ling drops. Well the weather was more than 2-3 ft and 10-15 so ling drops were out.

Went to our first drop and had a few blackfish on crabs, missed couple more and the bite died. Broke out the clam and smaller hooks and started to get a few porgies a triggerfish and a couple of seabass. Some real nice size porgies.

When the bite died headed a couple miles to ouyr next stop. No blackfish , some more porgies and seabass.

By now the ocean was really picking up and 2 of the 4 of were turning green. we tried on more quick drop which didnt produce and headed home.

Will get out a little deeper for ling next time, nice to see a showing of some nice size porgies inshore though.

Total for the day

We got our 4 keeper blackfish limit lmao
2 dozen porgies
1 dozen keeper seabass
1 trigger fish
1 blue

Slow day but at least we got a few for the cooler.
