Irish Ayes trolling 9-21
« on: September 21, 2008, 07:27:27 PM »
Broke the inlet a little late today (9am). Had to stop at the fuel dock and put some motion lotion in the tank. On board with me were Andy, Matt and his son, Sean.

Headed out to the Oil Wreck and started throwing some bait at the pots hoping for some mahi mahi. No one home. Was planning to go out further but didn't because of the time.

Put out some trolling lines and caught two false albies on our seven line spread. First one jumped a cedar plug I got from Diesel earlier this year. Yep, worked good Rick. Thanks.  t^

Second False Albie came on a purple feather. No other knock downs.

Headed back inshore to toss metal for blues. Fished around some party boats there were near the Shrewsbury Rock. Didn't get anything on the metals. Only saw a couple of blues pulled in on the party boats.

Made a troll from the outer buoy to the inner buoy at the rocks and boated some blue fish. Stopped the troll when we found some good marks and tossed metals again. Caught some blues on the metals there. When the action stopped we went back on the troll for some more blues. Gotta stick with what works.  ;D

Total for the day...two false albies, ten blues that came home with us and several dropped blues.

Don't know when the weather will let us back on the water again. Hopefully will get out a few times next week but it doesn't look promising.

On the way in we saw the Bandit heading out of the river. Captain Jerry was aboard and gave us a hearty hello. Nice to see you out there Capt.  t^
