09/21/08 Sunday at the SH Reef
« on: September 22, 2008, 05:01:03 PM »
I was at the northern end of the SandyHook reef sunday morning. Fished the flood tide.
Big porgies. We had over 200 boated and kept only 43...more than enough for us.  t^
All the big porgies were caught on spearings that I had brought out for false albies. A buddy put two on his bottom rig and boom...a double.  Most the bigger ones came up as the tide started. Didn't even have to bother with chum, till the middle of the tide.
My buddies were getting robbed a lot of the times...you had to hit em on the second or even the first tap or they would clean the hooks.
Can't wait till I can get out again...  ;)

Nice catch.  t^

Looked like a ton of boats on the reef on Sunday. I was at the Rocks trolling in the afternoon and could see the fleet.
