Thanks for spreading the word!  Feel free to publish the post anywhere and everywhere.
Another update, One of the guys on the Montauk group knows someone in Brazil who may be in a position to bring this to the attention of some important people there.  He just reached out to him.

Update!!!!

From 10/03/08
Looks like pressure is on, and Frank Lautenberg and Rush Holt has spoke with the the U.S. Ambassador to Brazil.  Letters and EM's still need to to be sent to keep the U.S. Gov't on top of this.  Time is ticking away!

From the blog on

http://bringseanhome.org/

We have received an electronic copy of a letter from The Special Secretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil.

The last paragraph states:
“From the point of view of the Secretariat for Human Rights, as the biological father exercises the legal custody of the child in the United States, the establishment of temporary custody rights in Brazil on behalf of the step father violates  the Hague Convention. For this reason, the Secretariat sent a formal message to the National Council of Justice to manifest its concern with the conduction of the case by the local Family court.”

While that sounds very positive, not being fully knowledgeable with the Brazilian judicial system we can only wonder how long the process will take,  appeals filed, delays granted, more appeals...
Please continue to send letters and EMs!
One day I'll have a photo of me and my 1st Striper up instead of this cat.

Here's the latest from the website update.
The Brazilian Fed. Court had ordered visitation a few weeks ago, but the ex-wife's 2nd husband took off with David's son in clear violation of the court order!

News Update Oct 30

Published by LukieD at <Bringseanhome.org>

David returned from Brazil earlier this week and unfortunately still has not been able to see Sean. We remain hopeful that day will come soon. David will never give up and neither will we in our efforts to bring Sean home. More to follow soon.

The Asbury Park Press published another article on the case on Oct 30:

http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008810300533

And the Brazilian press is finally starting to cover the story which is a very promising sign. The link below is to a Brazilian legal publication called Consultor Jurídico, which describes in detail the various court rulings of the past 4+ years. The comments afterwards are particularly interesting for those who speak Portuguese.

That's great!
I put the banner on my MySpace page as well!
The more publicity, the better!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!
Hopefully one day Capt. Dave will have his son home for a great one too!

Thanks Rod!  That is great.  I read some of the update and it looks like the entire campaign is getting more publicity locally, nationally and internationally!  Capt Dave is slated to be on Dr Phil which is airing December 1st.  That should get the news flowing.

Just watched Capt Dave Goldman on Dr Phil!  The story hasn't changed and it isn't any better, but he got his story out there and got some international publicity from the show.  The story left Dr Phil speechless...not something that happens too often!

The entire Dr Phil show was about parental abduction.  All the stories were just crazy!  Horrible...

I just received an emailed update...looks like the Dr Phil Show helped open up some new doors and gave this case the attention it needed!

Also, they are planning a rally, in front of the Brazillian Consulate in NYC on Friday December 12th at 2:30 PM.  You can read more about it on the website http://bringseanhome.org/wordpress/ if you are interested in attending.

Chris Smith is in my district. His office is in my town. Was there several times when I was on the job for different things.

He is a good guy who knows how to get things done. Hopefully, with his help, this will have a swift, happy ending.  t^
