where to fish

hey guys, im going out on the boat either this wed or thurs, depending on the weather.  i want to target stripers.  ill be launching outa the highlands.  should i stick to the bay area or head to the ocean around the hook?

had good action outside the sandy hook channel over the weekend on eels and got reports of bass under birds south of the rocks

ah that it were that simple...
with my record lately i should not talk...
but a birdy told me outside daytime
hook, surf, and rivers nighttime
or he also said stay home and save the fuel for a few more days (weeks?) like I shoulda  hhppy  chrz  rgmn

I am hoping it is getting old day after day and I think I am averaging only about .42 fish a day.
