Anyone tag stripers for the American Littoral Society(ALS)?? I just came across them. They are based right in NJ here. Seems like a worthy cause and a decent way to do our part to help the proper study of the fishery. Only thing I don't understand, is how they make you join with a membership fee, pay for the tagging kits and then call you a volunteer. I understand they need to keep costs down...maybe if they didn't require a membership fee to tag, more people would participate?! I may consider doing it at one point in my life...of course that means I have to catch some stripers then to be able to tag them.
