44lb Sea Monster on the troll. L.B.I SEE PICS
« on: November 17, 2008, 09:49:32 PM »
My buddy sent me a picture on my phone. His brother and crew landed a 44lb 8 oz. monk fish off LBI today on the troll. Not sure of all the details yet but he wants me to reach out to the IGFA and see if its a record... Not sure if it can weigh in on the troll? I will post the picture once he e-mails it over . He is out to dinner for his wifes B-Day so I couldnt get it  yet. . Looks like a sea monster. In the picture it has a yellow rattle lure or stretch in it's mouth cant tell. There are also 2 keeper bass that look like bunker next to this fish.I will update this tomorrow morning.

WOW!  Big fish...usually out in deeper water caught bottom fishing, not trolling.  Very neat!  Can't wait to see pics.

w0w  That's cool!  I'll try to look up the exact rules, but I don't think the IGFA allows wire line.  Of course, I could be mistaken.

Yeah Ron, wire line is not allowed as per IGFA rules. Another of their silly regs.

It is still a very formidable catch though.  t^
