Shorts in Squan 11/16

hit the suds after daybreak sunday morning, managed a couple of short bass on diamond jigs.  biggest of the two around 23".  The guys on the ends of the jetties and the guys who were casting waaaay out there were catching the most.  My surf rod is out of action so i had to fish w/ a 6.5ft beef stick (not great range), but i found a nice cut south of the Sea watch jetty in which the fish were presumably holding.
