All in all A great trip.  Fishing has been slow   due to the water Temp.. But Capt Scotty headed south unlike most Captains would elect to do and brought us to warmer water... off the coast of Virginia  ;D  Some slow pickins.. but some nice action came thru for a lot of the crew..

WreckFish took the new Rod And Reel Combo.

It was nice to met a lot of new faces and put names to them t^

Gottog with a nice 9.10 lber took the pool. t^

highlights:
full attendance, the boat was packed

pool winner - gottog (nice 8-9) pounder

high hook - either bobber (aka phil) or mickrazz - neither one of them knew which one had the most, and you got to give them credit for fishing the bow ALL day in 5-7's plus that nice old 25+ northerly

conditions - sporty :'(

crew - over and above, gotta give these guys credit for working their butts off  TT^

Yes, good old NOAA. They don't know-a thing.

It was a good time. Got to meet more of the guys from here. Like Rod said, faces to names.

Long boat ride but some fish were found. Better than setting up on a close wreck and wasting the day away with no bites. Great job Capt Scotty and Capt Jerry. Can not ask for a better effort to put the guys on fish. The bow was hot for a while there.

Ped, retirement is treating me very, very good.  ;D

on wreckfish winning the rod and reel, liked the way Rod did the drawing, the last one in the hat was the winner instead of the first one out,so as your ticket was drawn out you were eliminated, kept everyone's hopes up as the odds got better. t^

It was a looooooong day, but definitely fun! Good to get out with the boyz (and girl ;D).  And it was great to finally meet some other members of the site - Kezsr, No Worries, Treebeard, Wreckfish, Chris, etc.

I managed to scratch out a couple of keepers, but nothing the size of what Gottog, Tom (Broken One) and a couple others were catching.

Nice job to Capt. Scotty who took us to the fish (even though those fish were in Virginia)!  cfzd

What can I say about Capt. Jerry?  A great guy who really worked hard all day making sure everyone was rigged, ready and well taken care of.  He took the time to show me a new rigging method (a couple times until I got it).  It's always good when I can learn something new on a trip like this.

Joe, great job putting this together.  Your perseverance in trying to get an NJSWF trip off the ground finally paid off! t^

Rod, another fine time for the NJSWFers!  Thanks for everything!  And for donating the rod and reel combo.  Congratulations to Wreckfish on winning it!

And who best to win the pool fish but a guy named Gottog!  Nice job Mike!

Once again, a lot of fun with a truly great bunch of folks! t^

Great fun with a nice bunch of fishermen. My legs are like rubber this morning after battling the waves up in the bow all day. It was a pleasure fishing with you guys and gal.

I feel bad for my buddy Scotty who didn't get to fish most of the day. He's a puller that certainly would have added to to tog total.

It looked like Scotty hung in there as long as he could. He was a trooper, gotta give him a lot of credit.

My hips were a little sore from all the swaying to maintain balance with the rock and rolling all day. Was worth the pain though.  TT^

Great bunch of guys on the trip, most hard-core fishermen.

Scotty.... Def NOT 5-7's.... maybe 4-5, Maybe... with that stiff wind making them stack up close

ya got to learn to put that puke button on the night before..... Or at least before ya get that sickly feeling.....

when you guys fish down there dont go by what we have.... ya need to go to NOAA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WAKEFIELD VA station which gives better, much better, reports for that area....
