Title: Rough Seas Today?
Post by: Bucktail on August 23, 2009, 01:11:48 AM: I thought this was pretty funny. This is today's fishing report from an unnamed local captain. ;D

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND, WELL WE WENT OUT TODAY AND THE HUGE SWELLS WERE EIGHTEEN INCHES HIGH, OR SHOULD I SAY LOW. THE FISH REALLY WANTED TO EAT TODAY, WE KEPT FOUR TO SIX JUMBO BLUES ON AT A TIME. THERE WAS A SWELL AT THE INLET, BUT IT WAS NO PROBLEM GETTING IN OR OUT. WE WILL BE SAILING AGAIN TOMORROW. IF JIM CANTORE OF THE WEATHER CHANNEL TOOK MORE WEATHER CLASSES IN STEAD OF ACTING CLASSES, MAYBE WE WOULD GET A MORE ACCURATE FORCAST. SEE YOU TOMORROW...

They should change their official job title from Meteorologist to "Weather Forecaster!" The forecast is never right and neither are they.

I had a charter cancell a 4hour bay trip today due to all the large waves that would be in Barnegat Bay rofla.I tried to explain that I was more concerned about the bite being off a little and that the bay conditions would be just fine. They were sure it would be to rough. On the good side the guys fishing in kayaks in that area today wont be bothered by my 26' foot boat ;D.
