Rough Seas Today?
« on: August 23, 2009, 01:11:48 AM »
I thought this was pretty funny.  This is today's fishing report from an unnamed local captain. ;D

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND, WELL WE WENT OUT TODAY AND THE HUGE SWELLS WERE EIGHTEEN INCHES HIGH, OR SHOULD I SAY LOW. THE FISH REALLY WANTED TO EAT TODAY, WE KEPT FOUR TO SIX JUMBO BLUES ON AT A TIME. THERE WAS A SWELL AT THE INLET, BUT IT WAS NO PROBLEM GETTING IN OR OUT.  WE WILL BE SAILING AGAIN TOMORROW. IF JIM CANTORE OF THE WEATHER CHANNEL TOOK MORE WEATHER CLASSES IN STEAD OF ACTING CLASSES, MAYBE WE WOULD GET A MORE ACCURATE FORCAST. SEE YOU TOMORROW...

Yea drove down to the light house yesterday to see the raging inlet.
I should have taken the boat.

That's funny!

They should change their official job title from Meteorologist to "Weather Forecaster!"  The forecast is never right and neither are they.

Keep in mind...the marine weather reports are put out by the same people who are in charge of the federal fishing regulations. NOAA. They were named NOAA becasue they don't knowa-thing.

Yep that was some hype. I had a charter cancell a 4hour bay trip today due to all the large waves that would be in Barnegat Bay  rofla.I tried to explain that I was more concerned about the bite being off a little and that the  bay conditions would be just fine. They were sure it would  be to rough. On the good side the guys fishing in kayaks in that area  today wont be bothered by my 26' foot boat  ;D.

I went to the ocean today. It did not look bad at all. The inlet (Shark River) did not look all that good with the outgoing tide. It should all be fine tomorrow.  t^

Really? It wasn;t all that bad? I wasn't down to see the inlets but my fishing buddy at work told me Sunday was fishable. Should I be kicking myself?

Prob not Billy. Although the water was fishable, the fish didn't hear about it.  ;D
