Well the Bucket has been around for many years.
Some would do anything to have more and some would not want to be seen with one.
We use them for sitting, shi$$ing, carry bait and stuff ,and more stuff, storing stuff and hauling stuff. BUT REMEMBER.....
"No body wants to kick the bucket". rofla rofla
Do you have one(or more)and how is it used??????
t^

Yep, I have a couple, I use for gear and some tackle . I cut plywood as a lid for cutting bait or using as a seat. I've seen some guys using them in place of drift socks on smaller boats, drifting for Brown trout on a windy day. Brownies like a slower presentation. thud

I like the idea of plywood for cutting bait. t^
-
They make good ladders/stepping stools for us vertically challenged people. ;D
-
I use for everyday things like washing car, storing wild bird seed, surf fishing holding bait and my seat . And they ideal for using at the upick farms for loading up your fresh beans / berries.

A bucket is like your thumb
(1) you would never miss it till it's gone

I cut a piece of 1/2 in. ply. the size (or a little smaller) of the inside Dia. of the bucket and cut 3/4 Plywood a little larger than the outside of the bucket. Titebond water proof glue the both together. This way the lid won't slip off the bucket. 1/2in. on bottom 3/4 in. top. Works for me ;D

(3) and you couldn't wipe your butt without one
I'm getting a bad mental picture for # 3 hhppy

Laker, I will try that Idea of cutting the ply wood and making a seat for a few BUCKETS.Can also use the blue or green tops they come with in 5gal. spackle buckets. t^
-
I have a cushioned lid that I use as a seat for mine. But I also cut notches around the brim of the bucket. Just about 1/4 in deep, maybe more. I use it for surf fishing, when I want to wander off, I just slide some lures/rigs in the slots, and they get locked in place even when the lid is on.
-
Yes Jeff, they stay neat and if the buckets tips they will remain in place.
I store plugs and metals in the bucket too.
But it makes a lot of noise when I sneak out of the house to go fishing,so I leave it in the garage now. rofla rofla rofla
Good luck.
Keep em coming!!

When used as a seat on a boat fill it a quarter to half way up with water. This will help stabilize it for when the boat is rocking so it does not tip as easily. And if it does tip, you get about ten minutes of humor out of it at the expense of the reciepient of the bath. ;D

I attach a 5 gal bucket inside a large round Laundry basket......use it for my long anchor line.
Coil line in basket around bucket, anchor sits in bucket......easy out, easy in TT^

I have more buckets...
For fishing gear and lures, bait, tools, nails and screws...I could go on for days.
Here is the neatest use of a bucket...I have a bucket shop vac:

Capt Bob, Great idea with the anchor coiled around the buckets. Keeps it neat.
PhisGrv. Plenty of good uses for storage

EVERY BODY LEARNS
I cut small holes in one and place the eels w/ ice to melt into another. Keeps the eels going.

Yes Ed, I think others will pick up on Capt Bob's laundry basket idea.
ANY OTHERS IDEAS for the White Round Thing???
-
Drill a bunch of holes in it to keep live bait.
Port a potty. http://www.iprepare.com/100pp33.html
-
oh yea that live bait things works. t^
What else have YOU seen or used it for???????
-
I also use them for soaking my fish in Salt brine before they go into the smoker t^
-
Turn it upside down and use it for a one step ladder.
We use them at work for oil drain bucket, it only take two full ones for a truck engine.
-
Yes the step ladder, but be careful if the bottom pushes out.The oil transport capacity is aprox. 5 gallons.
Who can think of some uses ????
-
A footrest! I've also seen it used as a table to bait up hooks, cut bait. It's amazing what can be done with a simple bucket.
-
Bucket buddy. Bucket organizer
-
I have actually used it a few times to hold spackle! ;D

Great concept you should get a patent on that one t^ slt
-
My bucket in my truck is currently a garbage can.
-
clp Yes, a foor rest works
a buddy bucket for tools
even used to hold spackle
and cut bait.
I saw a tile guy using the bucket to carry out all the depris on bathroom renovation he is doing.
WHAT ELSE ????? t^
-
1 - tie a 10 ft rope to the handle, throw bucket in the drink, tie it off a stern cleat when trolling stripers. Gives just enough drag to slow the boat down into that oh-so-slow striper trolling speed.
2 - Drill 1/2" holes 4" apart all over bucket, place 10 lb steel plate in bottom (grabbed a weight lifting plate at a garage sale dirt cheap) add 4 gallon frozen clam bellies and sink it to thne bottom. Places the chum slick right in the feeding zone.
-
Buckets with screw on lids like chlorine tablet kind and drilled out holes make goood chum pots with some weight added to them.
-
Put fires out?
-
Duffman, yes I've seen them used over the side to slow the drift down, and used for chum in the zone with an old weight.
Hunter, yes, I've seen em used for bait buckets with holes drilled from 1/8th to 1/4 inch.
Thanks for your reply. WHAT ELSE ??
-
besides all uses mentioned above, i use a bucket to put my dog's poop in when cleaning the yard.
The bucket one of life's simplier pleasures! ;D
-
Hey Joe, Yes used as a Dog Poop Ditcher works.
A plastic bag inside is very important. rofla

Duffman, pull off the handle and drill out two larger holes so you can put the rope through the bucket then tie a knot inside on each side. You'll save your bucket those handles pull lose after awhile.
-
Stray Cat I agree. I lost one that way; and went back to research and developement rofla . and
tie directly to the White Round Thing now. t^
