Title: New BIB review
Post by: mboy on April 16, 2008, 05:49:16 AM
Needed to pick up a PVC BIB to keep the bunker and clam slime off of me this year (and general water spray for those crappy days).

Yes, Grundens are the most popular, but also very expensive.

Didn't want to foot the bill for those, so went with a reco to check out Carhartt's brand.

Found them for an unbelievable price here:

http://www.tools-plus.com/carhartt-r39.html

$37 shipped.

Located in CT, so I ordered Sunday night, they arrived yesterday.

I must say, VERY impressed with the quality anf it. REALLY nice, especially for the price.

If in need of raingear/Bib, not only do I reco these Carhartt's, I reco the place I got them from as well. VERY fast shipping and best price by far  TT^

Nice find Mike, please let us know how they fit when you get them.  I am also looking for a pair but have to  buy a set of hip waders first.

I have a set of chest waders but it is hard getting in and out of the expedition with them.  As I like to move up and down the beach, sort of like stalking.

Thanks

Paul

I got them yesterday and they fit PERFECT ( even a little roomier then I thought).

I am no lightweight and ordered the XXL and going by the size chart, thought they might be a little tight and it would force me to drop a few lbs.
Well, turns out they are a little lose and their is also a snap on the right side (waist area) to let even more room out.

ALso adjustable snap on leg bottoms as well.

Really nice, especially for the $$$.

There's a Dick's in East hanover on Rt. 10 They have an ok selection. The one in Rockaway, NJ at the mall has a larger fishing dept. You can call them to see if they have them.

Very impressed. For the $$ appears as if they can't be beat.

Thinking about ordering a back-up pair of my own.

Just pulled the trigger on Green jacket to match my yellow BIB.

Checked Dicks online, but they did not have my size in any color (XXL).

Busted them out yesterday for 1st time.

Raincoat would be too heavy for hot summer days, but was PERFECT yesterday. Have a nice feture of a stretch material cuff under sleeve 9with velcro adjust).

They were PERFECT yesterday.

The BIB was not only great yesterday, but I don't think would be too much of a problem in summer. They were comfy and held up just fine.

Super happy with the purchase :)

Was in the market for a new set of heavy duty rain gear.  While checking out Grundens dealers I remembered seeing this post. I'm glad I did.  Ordered out a set of Carhartt's.  They arrived yesterday.  Great quality and a great buy.  Highly recommended for cold weather.  Thanks Mboy.
