New BIB review
« on: April 16, 2008, 05:49:16 AM »
Needed to pick up a PVC BIB to keep the bunker and clam slime off of me this year (and general water spray for those crappy days).

Yes, Grundens are the most popular, but also very expensive.

Didn't want to foot the bill for those, so went with a reco to check out Carhartt's brand.

Found them for an unbelievable price here:

http://www.tools-plus.com/carhartt-r39.html

$37 shipped.

Located in CT, so I ordered Sunday night, they arrived yesterday.

I must say, VERY impressed with the quality anf it. REALLY nice, especially for the price.

If in need of raingear/Bib, not only do I reco these Carhartt's, I reco the place I got them from as well. VERY fast shipping and best price by far  TT^

Helley Hanson at this price is .35mm pvc, not .55mm like these Carhartts.

Nice find Mike, please let us know how they fit when you get them.  I am also looking for a pair but have to  buy a set of hip waders first.

I have a set of chest waders but it is hard getting in and out of the expedition with them.  As I like to move up and down the beach, sort of like stalking.

Thanks

Paul

I got them yesterday and they fit PERFECT ( even a little roomier then I thought).

I am no lightweight and ordered the XXL and going by the size chart, thought they might be a little tight and it would force me to drop a few lbs.
Well, turns out they are a little lose and their is also a snap on the right side (waist area) to let even more room out.

ALso adjustable snap on leg bottoms as well.

Really nice, especially for the $$$.

Some of the Dick's Sporting Goods locations have these in stock for $39.99 each (bibs or jacket).

Only some of the stores have them.  If there are no stores around you yet,  there will be. ;)

Sweet  t^

Perfect timing as Jason has grown out of his Helly's and needs a new pair. Now just have to figure out if I shoulder order a medium or large.

Let us know how they hold up.  My Grundens are going on about 10 years and might need a new pair soon.
