Leaving work at noon today to head down to the marina.
Boat needs a serious compounding and waxing. BTW...I just bought the boat in Jan.2008.
Salt water washdown/livewell pump took a crap too, so that's getting replaced today as well.
Next week, bottom paint and a tune up and hopefully she's in by the 27th.
Can't wait...... ;D

Wow.. those pumps suck. It seems like every year I am replacing them. Good luck getting her ready, you picked a great weather day for it.

I guess it's better to find out now than find out when you're running your livewells.
I'm actually happier knowing I installed new items on the boat too. Takes the focus off the boat and onto fishing more.
I bought a new Milwaukee polisher too, so that'll help save some time. t^

I wonder if somehow an aquarium pump could be wired in?? I have mag drive (pond master)pumps thats been running almost 10 years now and it's only shut down once a week for about 90 mins while I change the water. They range in size from a few hundered GPH to 3600 GPH.

Welp....got down there at 1:30 this afternoon and the boat was being prepped to be primed and painted. It was supposed to be next week, but I'm not complaining. I'll finish everything up on Sunday instead. They told me the boat would splash as early as Wednesday!
Woo Hoo! chrz
Saw mboy down there and met young gull too. Great seeing you guys! t^

Do you run saltwater through the pump?

yes, this pump i'm running was running marine water around 4 years but is back to freshwater again. I sold a 29g reef tank a few years ago and that guy is still running the same mag drive on that setup.

I don't know if an aquarium pump would be able to pull the water the distance it would have to in order to get it to a livewell. It would be something worth trying to find out. What find of force would there be for a washdown? I don't think there would be enough, but then again, what do I know about that. TT^
