The weekend is shaping up to be nice.  With Friday a transitional day between frontal boundary and high pressure, the weekend will bring slightly cooler, drier air and dry conditions.  The entire state will have sunny to mostly sunny conditions all weekend with no rain chances in the forecast.  High temperatures will range from the mid 70’s to low 80’s with overnight lows in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s inland with low 60’s along/on the water.  Water conditions are rated good for all locations.  However, Saturday could bring some gusty east/northeast winds with the passing front and building seas could approach SCA criteria with winds near 20 knots and seas to 5 feet.  Southern areas will see the highest winds and seas with conditions lessening to the north.  Surf and beach conditions look good for the weekend.  Saturday could bring some rougher and elevated surf with gusty easterly winds and possible moderate risks of rip currents, but by Sunday conditions will be normal with low risks of rip currents.   Water temperatures have warmed by a few degrees and are all in the lower to upper 70’s.  UV Index will be High to Very High.

High pressure over the Great Lakes will slowly settle to the southeast and reach the area by Saturday Night before moving off the Southern Mid Atlantic Coast on Monday.

Next week will bring in an unsettled weather pattern on Tuesday bringing chances of rain for most of the week.  High temperatures will return to upper 70’s to mid 80’s with overnight lows back into the 60’s.  Dew points will return back to the 60’s as well with a return of moderate humidity.  Water conditions look good for all locations all week except Tuesday with a gusty southwesterly flow and building seas.  Surf and beach conditions look good right now as well.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather!

Good afternoon!  A nice day already with sunny skies and a few clouds.  This will continue for the rest of the day with dry conditions.  The cold front has moved out and high pressure is in the process of moving in bringing cooler and drier air.  High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70’s, not much warmer than our current temperatures.  Overnight lows will vary by location with upper 50’s inland, low 60’s along/on the water and mid to upper 40’s in northern areas and higher elevations.  Dew points are in the mid 50’s for most of the state with some 60’s still in southern areas making humidity low to moderate.  Most areas will not even notice the humidity today, while southern areas may still be a little muggy.

Water conditions are rated good for all locations except Offshore this afternoon will be cautious due to winds in excess of 20 knots and seas building to 5 feet.  Other areas will see gustier winds to 15 knots with some higher gusts.  Raritan Bay will have east winds 5-10 knots changing to southeast at 5 knots tonight then southwest after midnight with seas 1 foot or less.  Barnegat Bay will have east-northeast winds around 13 knots changing to east winds at 5 knots tonight then becoming variable with seas 1 foot or less.  Delaware Bay will have northeast winds 10-15 knots becoming east at 5-10 knots tonight with seas 1-2 feet.  Inshore ocean waters will have northeast/north-northeast changing to east-northeast winds 10-18 knots with seas 2 feet at 10 seconds becoming 3 feet at 5 seconds this afternoon.  Midshore to Offshore will have northeast/east-northeast winds at 9-21 knot with seas 2-3 feet at 10 seconds becoming 3-5 feet at 5 seconds.

Surf and beach conditions are ok with a Moderate Risks of rip currents.  Winds are from the northeast at 15 mph with rough, elevated surf around 2-3 feet.  Waves will continue to stack up and winds will stay steady with higher gusts this afternoon and continued rough surf around 2-3 feet with possible 4 foot waves at times with a 2-3 foot east swell at 8 seconds decreasing to 5 seconds this afternoon.  Surf temperatures are in the low 70’s.  UV Index is High at 7/15.  Use caution if you are going in the water today!

Have a great Saturday!!

Good afternoon!  Another great day in progress.  This will continue for the rest of today with sunny skies and some clouds mixed in.  Skies will be clear tonight with some more clouds building in across northern areas.  It will remain dry today with no rain in the forecast.  High temperatures in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.  Overnight lows in the mid to upper 50’s with some low 60’s along/on the water.  Dew points are mostly in the 50’s with some low 60’s in areas, keeping the humidity lower today.

Water conditions are rated good today with varying, light winds and recovering, subsiding seas.  Raritan Bay will have south winds becoming southwest tonight at 5-10 knots with seas 1 foot or less.  Barnegat Bay will have west-northwest becoming south this afternoon and south-southwest tonight then west-southwest after midnight around 5 knots with seas 1 foot or less.  Delaware Bay will have northeast winds becoming south this afternoon then southwest tonight around 5 knots with seas 1-2 feet.  Inshore ocean waters will have varying winds from northwest/west to north/west-northwest and east-northeast ranging from 1-10 knots averaging around 5 knots with seas 2-4 feet at 7 seconds.  Midshore of Offshore will have northwests/north-northeast becoming west-southwest/northwest winds at 3-8 knots with seas 2-3 feet at 6-7 seconds.

Surf and beach conditions are ok with Moderate Risks of rip currents again.  Winds are north shifting to the southeast at 10 mph with some higher gusts, rougher, elevated surf and wave heights 3 feet with a 3 foot east swell at 7 seconds.  Surf temperatures are in the low to mid 70’s.  UV Index is High at 7/15.

Have a great Sunday!!
