Another unsettled week…starting to sound like a broken record, with a roller coaster of a week ahead. The week will start off dry, then chances of showers (possible snow showers across northern/northwestern areas) on Tuesday Night through Wednesday and then clearing out on Wednesday Night and then chances of rain and showers on Thursday through Friday Night. The chances earlier in the week are lower than towards the end of the week. Unfortunately, Halloween Night and Friday have the highest chances of rain, anywhere from 50%-60% right now. Originally, chances were much higher, then they lessened about 5 days out and now increased some. It all depends on the timing of the front and low pressure across the middle of the country. None of the days this week are a complete washout. I will have updates by Tuesday or Wednesday on the exact timing of Thursday’s Rain. High temperatures will be seasonal, even above normal towards the end of with average overnight lows. High temperatures will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s this week, with warmer temperatures coming towards the end of the week with a moderate southerly flow. Overnight lows will range from the low 30’s across northern areas to the low 60’s later in the week across coastal areas. The southerly flow could bring some dew points into the upper 50’s and low 60’s, bringing some moderate humidity. Water conditions look good with some moderate to gusty winds during the through Wednesday Night. Thursday could bring winds from high pressure of the coast, creating a moderate to strong southerly flow. Cautious to Hazardous conditions with Small Craft Advisories for south winds 30-40 knots and seas 4-11 feet at 8 seconds, will persist through Friday before subsiding for the weekend. Surf conditions will be good through Thursday before starting to deteriorate, echoing the water conditions. Thursday and Friday could see southerly winds in excess of 30 knots, rough surf and wave heights 2-6 feet with a 3-7 foot south-southeast swell at 8 seconds. Water temperatures are cooling off some more with rivers and bays in the mid to upper 50’s, surf temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s, inshore ocean waters in the mid 50’s to low 60’s and midshore to offshore waters in the low to mid 60’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate 1-3/15.
High pressure will briefly build across the area late Sunday Night into early Monday before another mostly dry cold front moves through the area late on Monday. High pressure will then again, build across the Eastern Seaboard Tuesday into Wednesday, before building offshore on Thursday. A warm front should lift north of the area on Thursday as low pressure moves into the Great Lakes Region. A cold front is expected to affect the area late next week as the low pressure moves into Eastern Canada. Another frontal boundary is expected Saturday Night into Sunday
The weekend could start off with some chances of rain/showers on Saturday clearing out into the overnight. Sunday looks dry and sunny. High temperatures will be in the upper 50’s to upper 60’s with overnight lows in the upper 30’s to the upper 40’s. Water and surf conditions look good right now. If, this system slows at all rain chances and winds could be pushed off into Saturday or Sunday. The middle of the week will tell better.
Have a great week!
