A mixed week again, with unsettled boundaries moving through the state all week. Monday will continue dry during the day with increasing clouds. Showers are possible tonight, continuing into Tuesday Morning and Tuesday Day before clearing out for Tuesday Night. Then the rest of the week looks dry with more sun than clouds. Wednesday could see very low chances of showers. High temperatures will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s with overnight lows in the low to mid 50’s. Along the coast will see warmer lows into the 60’s as warmer ocean waters influence the air and northern areas could see lows dip down into the low to mid 40’s. Water conditions will continue to be good for Monday. Tuesday could see some gustier winds and seas building. By Wednesday conditions will be borderline with seas building to 3-5 and 4-7 feet through Friday with a longer period swell towards 15 seconds. This is from passing fronts and systems and some long reaching affects of Edouard. Friday could see cautious conditions inshore and Thursday and Friday could see cautious conditions midshore to offshore. Surf and beach conditions look good to ok. Gustier winds the end of the week are likely and some rougher, higher surf around 2-4 feet are possible also. Rip Current Risk is Low to Moderate. Water temperatures have dropped a few degrees into the mid to upper 60’s with low to mid 70’s for Southern and Offshore waters. UV Index will be High.
High pressure across the region will gradually shift offshore by Monday Evening, allowing a cold front to cross the area late Monday Night into early Tuesday. More high pressure from the Plains and Midwest will build east into the Mid Atlantic later Tuesday through Wednesday. A weak cold front may pass through the area late on Wednesday Night into early Thursday, followed by another area of high pressure settling over the region Thursday through Friday. This high pressure will move offshore Saturday, allowing a cold front to approach the region from the west on Sunday.
Edouard is out in the Atlantic heading to the northeast and is not a threat to the US. The Eastern Pacific is active again, with Hurricane Odile making landfall near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and affecting the entire Baja California Peninsula as a strong Category 3 Hurricane. There are also 2 other invest areas being watched in the Pacific.
The weekend will be mostly dry with more sun than clouds. Sunday could see a slight chance of showers. Temperatures will continue in the 60’s and 70’s with overnight lows in the 40’s to 60’s. Humidity will be low to moderate. Starting to get that cooler, drier Fall air moving in, although Summer is not letting go of the daytime temperatures quit yet. Water conditions could be borderline on Saturday and good for Sunday. Surf and beach conditions will be good, possibly some gustier winds on Saturday with normal surf around 1-3 feet and a Low Risk of Rip Currents.
Have a great week, thanks for reading and sorry for the delay!
