A mostly settled week with good weather and mostly good water conditions. The area dodged the coastal storm that was forecast last week. What looked like a horrible week, has turned into another dry week with above average temperatures and mainly good water conditions. The forecast coastal low will develop further south of the area and pass well out to sea. The week looks dry, maybe very low chances of showers on Monday Night still, but these will be less than 20% chances and isolated, if any. There will be a mix of sun and clouds, with more clouds overnight. Highs will be in the upper 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows ranging from the 20’s to 40’s. There may be some fog Sunday Night into Monday early morning. Water conditions will be mixed and will vary from time to time and by location. Rivers and bays will have good conditions all week. Inshore ocean waters will have good to borderline and some cautious conditions possible as well. NWS and BuoyWeather forecasts, vary for the entire week. Even at worst, inshore ocean water sea heights max out at 4 feet and midshore to offshore at 5 feet. This is nowhere near the forecast of 55 knot winds and 25 foot seas from last week. Surf and beach conditions will be good all week with winds to 20 knots and wave heights 1-3 feet. Water temperatures are steady in the 50’s. UV Index will be Low at 1-2/15.
High pressure overhead tonight will shift off the coast on Monday. An upper level disturbance will pass through the area on Monday Night, while low pressure develops off the Mid Atlantic Coast and quickly moves out to sea through Tuesday. Another area of high pressure should influence the region midweek. Weak low pressure is anticipated to develop off the Virginia Capes late on Wednesday Night before moving out to sea on Thursday. High pressure builds into our region from the South on Friday and strengthens along the Eastern Seaboard this weekend.
The weekend looks to be a continuation of the week, with dry conditions and high pressure in control. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s with overnight lows in the 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look good as well.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
