A mostly stable weather week and mixed water conditions. With rain and thunderstorms moving through the state on Sunday Evening/Night, a cold front will move through the area, followed by high pressure for most of the week. This means overall cooler and drier air with mostly dry conditions this week. Another cold front moves through on Friday, when temperatures will return to the upper 80’s and low 90’s and then rain and thunderstorm chances as well. Humidity will be low to moderate, slowly increasing into Friday, becoming moderate to high again. The first half of the week will see very low dew points/humidity with overnight lows into the 50’s for Monday and not back into the upper 60’s to 70’s until after midweek. Fog will be possible in the morning on Monday through Wednesday. This is already showing some early end of season changes, as we approach September already! Summer is quickly moving off…not sure where all the time went. Water conditions will be mixed, but overall will start off cautious then borderline for Monday, then mostly good until Friday, when conditions will deteriorate to borderline and cautious. There may be some borderline days in the middle of the week, mainly due to seas to 3 feet and cautious conditions will only see winds to 20 knots and seas 2-4 feet, then 3-4 feet. Overall, not the the worst. TS Fiona could bring some lingering effects later in the week or weekend, depending how close the track comes to the coast. Surf and beach conditions are good as well. Monday and Friday could be borderline to even cautious. Rip Current Risks will be Low to Moderate on Monday and Friday, but should be good the rest of the week. Remember, thunderstorms are possible on Friday and could move in or pop up bringing heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and gusty winds. This will increase marine forecasts in and around storms. Surf zone and rip current risks need to be checked daily and follow local beach patrols. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s and 80’s. UV Index will be High to Very High at 7-9/15.
A cold front was located just to our west this afternoon. The front will move eastward through the area this evening. High pressure builds into the area Monday and remain over the area through Thursday. The next cold front approaches from the northwest on
Friday. The front may dissipate over the area next weekend while the center of high pressure approaches from the Great Lakes.

The weekend looks dry right now with temperatures in the 80’s (some upper 80’s possible) with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious at this point.

The Atlantic Tropics are active with TS Fiona out in the Atlantic that will eventually weaken and stay out to sea. However, there may be some lingering water conditions from this storm later in the week or into the weekend. There are also two invest out in the Eastern Atlantic that will need to be watched. It is too early to say much about these, but both could affect the US anywhere from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast.

Have a great week and thanks for reading! Sorry for the tech difficulties this weekend. Nothing would work…first the computer, then websites, then pic hosting! I got aggravated and gave up after trying for over 12 hours on and off. I have also started a new job and am out of the “office” more during the day now, than I was before.
