save yourself some bucks and go to cabelas june 2-4 and get 40% off there saltstriker reel.  I got one and it works very well.  Its a 50 - 60 dollar reel, smooth, great drag, really nice handle like the new avets, has a baitrunner option which I prefer.  I should be able to pick them up for 35 bucks in June.  You don't need to spend big bucks for fluking starting out.

this is pretty much what I said before.. Never heard of a reel blowing up while fluke fishing..

Every body has their oun thoughts on what they like and what fits into the budget and how it fits the fishing plan.Either the surf, the private boats,or party boats or charters.
Me, I have used Penns 450,550,650, Jigmaster 500 and Squidders as well as Abu 5500,6500,7000 and Diawa 2600, 4000 and one BG#30. Troll with Penn 4/0s. I quess the all needed some attention over the years just like my first wife. Good luck with Your choice.  AJ

havin trouble finding shimano spheros 4000a,anyone know where i can find one??i did see a shimano symetre 4000 at dicks s/goods it was listed at 79.99-20.00 discount,and i have a coupon for another 10 off..so its a 79.99 reel for $49.99.does that sound decent??
