Mono to braid knot

I have been using another knot for mono to braid for around a year. Its called the Alberto knot and its a variation of the Albright knot. Its very thin however a little long, but it works well and is very strong. I usually have a shock leader of about eight feet on my braid reels so this knot flies through the guides on the regular. So far I have not broken it or worn it at all.

Its very easy and quick to tie, especially because you only need to hold the mono in a loop and all the work is done with the easy to work with braid. I'm not very smart and I can tie it quickly.

When I first started using braid I always used the Albright knot while using the printed guide that came with the braid.
Practice, practice, practice at the bench.

On the last Tog Trip BucktailBob intoduced me to the Red Phillip and some other cool knots.

Before that I had switched to the Double  Uni and liked that knot too.

Tonight I test tied the Red Phillip Knot at my bench with 50lb. Power Pro and 40lb. leader and was very happy with the knot.

With Tog season only 80 days away it's time to start thinking about this stuff.

I like the fact that the smaller knot has less of a chance of getting hung up (if only a quick knick) on the guides when casting out to the rocks as I like to use a 10 foot "Top Shot"

Bob always teaching some one something that guys good  , Kenny showed me the "Slim Beauty" but I forgot how to tie that one too. Yeah 80 days away start tying rigs.

For the record, I learned this knot the same way you did Paulie.  By one member of this site sharing it with other members of this site. 

And yes, it has become one of my absolute favorite knots for inshore fishing.

I've been using this knot for the past few weeks. It's called a Red Phillips Knot...



It's small and very strong. I used to tie double uni knots but no more.
Give it a try. 

That is a slight variation from the Alberto Knot which I use and it is a Superior knot that will not slip. I really like it. I will try the knot you suggested as well,it looks like a good one also.
