A very settled week with just some exiting weather causing cautious water conditions on Monday. The week looks nice with typical late summer conditions. As the front and low pressure exits the region on Sunday, high pressure will take control for the week. It will be dry this week, which is nice, but it will also enhance the dry to drought like conditions affecting much of the Northeast. Highs will range from the low 70’s up into the mid to even upper 80’s inland with overnight lows from the 40’s to upper 60’s. Cooler highs will be at the shore and cooler lows will be across higher elevation/northern areas. The coolest highs and lows will be Sunday Night through Tuesday with the lowest humidity. Humidity will be low to moderate with some areas seeing moderate to high at times. Water conditions will be cautious for Monday with Small Craft Advisories. Winds could push 25 knots with seas inshore to 4 feet and midshore to offshore to 8 feet. Winds will decrease into Monday Night and for Tuesday with good conditions for Tuesday through the rest of the week. Midshore to offshore will still have high seas for Tuesday, but they will improve into Tuesday Night and then also be good for the rest of the week.  Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious on Monday with winds to 25 knots, rough surf and wave heights 2-4 feet on average, however winds will be mainly out of the northwest. Conditions will improve for Tuesday and through the end of the week and look good. Rip Current Risk will be Low to Moderate on Monday and Low for the rest of the week. Most beaches are unguarded at this point in time, so entering the water is at your own risk…be careful! Water temperatures are a couple of degrees cooler and still in the mid 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to High at 5-7/15.

Low pressure will lift northeastward across New England through Sunday Night. High pressure will also build in from the Mid South tonight before settling overhead through much of next week. The high will shift offshore by next weekend when a cold front is expected to pass through the Mid Atlantic.

The weekend will continue to be dry and sunny with a mix of clouds. Highs will continue in the upper 70’s to upper 80’s for some locations with overnight lows in the upper 50’s to upper 60’s. Humidity will be moderate. Water, surf and beach conditions look mainly good. Winds could increase some on Saturday to 15 knots with gusts to 20 knots and seas 2-3 feet. Other than that, right now, conditions look good.

The Tropics are active, however anything that has developed has not been able to sustain in poor conditions. Right now there are 4 areas of invest. They are all worth watching, but only 1 looks like a possible threat to the US; that invest would be in the GOM.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
