A dry weekend, but poor water conditions. Saturday and Sunday will both be dry with more sun than clouds during the day. Highs will only be in the 50’s with overnight lows in the 30’s to 40’s. Some areas will see freezing temperatures again, but this will only last for a few days before moderating and going back to being above average for this time of the year. Saturday will be very breezy statewide, with winds 20 mph and gusts to 40 mph. Water conditions will be poor, starting Thursday and lasting the entire weekend. Thursday Night, Friday, and Saturday will be the worst, however lingering winds and seas are possible into Sunday. Saturday will have hazardous to cautious water conditions with Small Craft Advisories. Winds will push 35 knots and seas to 6 feet inshore and 12 feet midshore to offshore. Sunday will have borderline to cautious conditions, except for bays and rivers which will see good to borderline conditions. Winds will gust to 20 knots with seas settling back into the 2-4 foot range. Sunday could definitely see favorable conditions. Surf and beach conditions will be cautious on Saturday and ok to good on Sunday. Winds will gust to 35 knots on Saturday and then only 20 knots on Sunday. Surf will be rough on Saturday, better on Sunday with wave heights to 6 feet on Saturday and back to 3 feet on Sunday. Water temperatures are steady in the upper 50’s to low 60’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 1-3/15.
A strong low pressure system will move across the Great Lakes Region and into Southeastern Canada on Thursday Night. An associated cold front will move across the area on Thursday Evening. The storm system will then slowly move into the Canadian Maritimes on Friday through Saturday. High pressure will gradually build in from the West Friday Night through Saturday, before shifting to the northeast and east early next week. A cold front is then forecast to approach on Thursday.
Next week will start off dry with rain chances moving in for Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will gradually warm from the 50’s into the 60’s by midweek. Overnight lows will also increase from the 30’s into the 50’s for many locations around midweek as well. Temperatures are certainly above average for this time of year! Water, surf and beach conditions look good through Wednesday then becoming borderline to cautious for Thursday and possibly Friday.
The Atlantic Tropics are quiet again as the invest area from the weekend became Hurricane Emily, but stayed well out to sea and has now dissipated. Official Atlantic Hurricane Season ends this month.
