I have a 400 and 800 watt inverter from West Marine. I use the 400 watt for charging cordless tool batteries, drop lights, cell phone ect. I plug that one into the lighter socket or my jump pack. The 800 watt will run my bench mount Craftsman grinder/wire wheel in my mobile work shop.  Just clamps on to the battery posts. Matt.
