January 9, 2009 Offshore Report
« on: January 11, 2009, 05:24:09 PM »
I was on the Voyager from Point Beach, NJ for a Friday, January 9, 2009 departure.  We left the dock at 1105 PM and we were fishing by 540 AM.

I personally had fifteen keeper sea bass, one ling, two large porgys and about a combination of a dozen doggies and pouts.  My largest sea bass was over 5 pounds.  The rest were in that two to four pound range.

Very nice on the water. Lots of limits.  Also, some huge pollock.  I did not get one, but there were about 12 or 15 big time pollock on board.  A couple of cod were also caught.

These are great trips.  Just its a long day if you can't sleep.  Can't wait to do it again.....

Thank you all.

We had no wind at the end.  So we drifted at one spot.  I was thinking, great.... just like fluke fishing.  I was boucing as we do for fluke and caught a 3.5 ound sea bass and some doggies.  We did not stay there long.  It was 2 PM so I figured we were done.  Nope, then we went to another spot and that is where I caught my personal best over 5 pound sea bass and it was on my own rig.
