Opening Day Bass Report
« on: March 04, 2009, 08:03:16 AM »
Hello to all...... I went out for a few hrs on opening day, were the water flows warm into Barnegat Bay. Conditions were tough, wind blowing hard out of the northeast thus pushing cold water onto the flats. I threw small bucktails and small yo-zuri swimmers. No takers but, it was great to be out. I dont post much here on this board but, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and productive season. I'll be taking the opportunity this year to take some of the children from my sons school fishing with me, as many of them have never experienced the thrill of fishing.

Good try, its early but I bet it felt great to be out there with pole in hand.  Nice gesture on your part kids of today for the most part are not interested in fishing as we were growing up.  It would be good to get them away from the video games and iPods for a while.

Happy Catching

Paul

Great effort.

When you get them kids out, don't forget the camera. Also, post reports here with pics.  t^

Taking those kids out will make for some great memories.  Some of the kids I took out while fishing or hunting with my family, now have invited me and wife to their College Graduations and Weddings. Some have asked for Job and Military clearance referances etc. .Cool !!   chrz     slt

A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work anyday.   t^

Great idea about the kids. make sure the trips are short and has lots of action. Porgies, herring, mackerel are the type of fishing my kids loved to do because of the fast action.

Nice job taking the kids out...lots of them would never experience the thrill of that first fish...some dads don't have the time, others never experienced it themselves and wouldn't know where to begin...some dads need a first time! Takes patience...but well worth the reward...Like Irish said....bring the camera! Good luck this year!

The power plant is doing well the only problem is that everyone and their uncle knows about it and it has been crowded.  They say the water is in the 60"s.
