Hi All,
Well I had to get out and just do what I wanted for a couple of 3 hours. I have been tying a bunch of streamers and teasers with a bunch of new hooks and I wanted to see how they would swim.
Parked in the A20 lot and walked back to the canoe & kayak launch and walked north. With the waders and a good pair of socks the water did not bother me at all. It felt like it was some where in the mid to lower 40's. The water was crystal clear and very calm back there. I walked north casting several types of flies and I have to say that the Owner Hooks in a 2/0 size are the key. They are a light circle with a very small barb that acted like a keel to the streamer in a p-Nut pattern. The same goes for the sand eel pattern infact all the new stuff I tried today looked great in the water.
For the last hour I was out there I did try to raise a fish in some swirls but nothing. That's okay I was out trying and not listening or reading other peoples reports. I felt great to finally get out back there. Now all I need is a kayak which I hope to have this spring. It should be a blast I can't wait to hit the beach and the sedge islands out back.
I am planning on going our on Wednesday and try some other things like gulp bloodworms and if I can find Fishbites I will be comparing them side be side so to speak.
Can't wait to staret hitting something. Thats alright time is on my side.
Happy Catching
Paul
