hook on a swivel rig; anyone use it?
« on: March 27, 2009, 07:36:56 PM »
i saw a rig that was interesting

line terminated with a sinker and the circle hook was attached to a leader which was attached to the main line by a snap-on swivel. the live bait is able to swim up and down the line.

anyone use this kind of rig?

Sounds interesting. Does it tangle?

Depending on the biat you are using you may find it floating up to the top of the water column or somewhere in the middle. It would not be very effective if you are fishing for bottom dwellers.

If the hook rides the main line how do you set the hook?

i have seen this rig before. it works. you need to use a circle hook because it pretty much hook sets its self with the line tension.

that's what was implied that the circle hook does all the work.

it shouldn't tangle with the swivel free running
