Saftey Cetrificate class reco- I was very happy
« on: May 28, 2007, 02:17:30 PM »
Yesterday, my wife and I completed the saftey Certificate class.
For me, it was easy as I have been boating for 30 years, but she is brand new to the game and didn't know Starbaord from port before class.

We both aced the test and was VERY happy with the class we choose.

I highly reco these guys for anyone who still needs to take the course and pass test.

I live in North Jersy so we took it in Wayne. Ironically, most of the people there were fresh water boaters. Out of 35 people or so, there were maybe 3-4 tops aside from the 2 of us who are salt water boaters.

$60 per persona nd also included 1 year Boat US membership. The classs is nationality certified so cert is good in all 50 states = Puerto Rico and Europe they said.

We were both very happy with this course.

Good Idea.. With the new rules about the need to have this certificate. The State police will start enforcing it for this summer..Thus the reason for the having presence this weekend..

Yep, and equally important was my wife knowing what to do on whater, what terms mean what, etc.
I have been doing this my whole life, so knew a good deal already. She did not, but now has a MUCH better handle on things.

$120 for 2 of us was VERY well Spent.

You can never get enough knowledge when it comes to boating.  There are many out there who jump in the boat, turn the key and take off not knowing a thing about rules of the road, seamanship, etc.  They can be a hazzard to themself and others.

There is always something to learn out there.
