Raritan Bay Stripers 4/19
« on: April 19, 2009, 05:29:21 PM »
got up at 4:30 this morning, took my after party Alka Seltzer, was at Ken and Hons house by 6,fishing on there boat today.headed out from Sayreville a little after 6,headed straight to vicinity in the 19 can area in the Reach where we had success on my boat Friday, anchored up and we had a bushel of fresh clams to chum them up.not marking or catching, hung a little while and moved in where the fleet was and set up,had a few run offs but nothing caught, stayed here awhile and then did a little moving around looking, ended up back over by the Reach at the slack tide, still not getting anything, most of the time with the wind against the tide the boat was swinging alot and couldn't get a good slick down, when the tide swung started getting some action, only had a brief bite, where only a handful of shorts were landed and then it died.we headed back bay and set up for awhile and then headed in around 1:45.I guess somedays the fish have to be the winners, today they beat us.    Kez

Hey pop, at least you were out.  The bite is waiting for me to get back out with ya! t^  I just got home from a baptism and the after party.  1st thing I did was check for your report!

Hey Dad,
Sounds like the fish were making you pay for the great day you had friday. Or they didn't like the smell of "the breeze"

Gave it your best.  Scratched a few out in tough wind against tide conditions.  You'll knock em out next time.

Uncle Luna, not many of them made it to the room with the bar either. I think they were short shifted by the guys hanging near the kitchen doors. They reminded me of blue fish jumping on bait before the stripers could get to it.  ;D

Same with the bacon wrapped scallops, although I did manage to get a few of them.  TT^

nice meeting you and your wife, you guys were great dinner company,I think all of us were tired today, stayed up awhile to wind down after getting home, but still getting up early to go fishing,we were all pumped up this morning after the good day Friday and some reports from yesterday, feeling that the bite was on.but we didn't fair to well today and also it's lot easier getting up to go fishing then go to w---,hate that 4 letter word being retired. ;D   Kez
