Raritan Bay 5/6
« on: May 06, 2009, 07:22:59 PM »
Launched out of Sayreville with pop (kezsr)  a little after 10 this morning.  Made our way past the trestle towards the triangle and saw some birds working.  Pop eased into the bunker swirl and we tried to snag some.....  first cast with a weighted treble trying to snag the bunks, snagged a big blue in the dorsal fin.  Laughed it off next cast hooked one in the side.  I said, that's it let's cast some metal and have some fun, the blue's were in thick!  We screwed around for about 15 minutes with nonstop yellow eyes......  And that's where it ends.  We moved to try and find stripers, but all we could find were the blue stripers with yellow eyes, big teeth and NO stripes ;D  Better than nothing at all I suppose.  BTW, all the blues were 5-10 lbs.

LS3- water was flat until about 1 or so... like a lake!  But even after the wind kicked up in the early afternoon the water was still pretty flat1 t^

Great report guys.  It seemed like that overcast today and lack of rain brought everyone out.  How is the water clarity up there with all this rain?
