Home made rod rack
« on: May 14, 2009, 10:27:26 AM »
I got tired of looking at my rods leaning against the wall or laying across my workbench so I put together this rack.

It's just for quick access. I've got a carousel type, my wife gave me as a Christmas present, in the basement for overflow and winter storage.

Pops,

She's sitting on the very top of the rack.  I haven't put a reel on it yet. I can't wait to give it a work out.   The wife is planning on getting me a reel of my choice for a father's day present.  Not sure she knows what she commited to >:D

Here is a rod rack I made a few years back when I had to pack the garage with all the extra stuff from my mom's house after her passing.  The garage is still a mess but the rods are very accessible.

Just another idea... grtn

Nice work Pilot! t^  I think it's time to put a reel on that thing!  ;)

Paul.  I like the overhead storage or free standing racks (I have both).  Wall space is too precious in my cluttered garage...  er... fishing room. ;D

The same with yours...My only problem is that the walls were not an option and they are all full of stuff so up was my only choice.

Rod,

Very nice. What kind of boat do you have?  I like the way they stow neatly.   In my Maycraft, there's a carpeted V-berth cuddy that limits my ability to store rods > 6'6".  Still thinking about doing something.  Anyone know if there is product on the market that will clinch the carpet fibers securely enough to hold rod/reel weight while under way with some rockin and bouncing?

Nice...

I have something that looks very similar, but is just larger for the weed whacker, pole saw, etc...

I might have to make one of those 5hrug.
