FogFog and more Fog

Hi All.

Well took the wife, daughter and sister-in-law out and as soon as we crested over the dune line on the ocean side the fog was really thick.  We decided to fish closer to the inlet but it seemed like no one was catching a thing.  Talked to a newbie fly fisherman and he said that the bay was the hot place to be right now.  Figures...

I can believe it as there must of been at least 20 vehicles parked at A21 all with empty kayak holders.  One of these days it will click again like a couple of weeks ago.

Oh well, at least the water was clear and warming up again.  BTW, if you are thinking of coming down make sure if you are planning on using bunker that you pick some up elsewhere because the fog is keeping the bunker guys in port till later in the day.

fog here to this morning,still had intermittent problems with outboard on yesterdays trip,took boat to mechanic in Jackson this morning early and he checked my ignition system,replaced powerpack,on the way back,called friend Ken's wife Hon and she met me at Sayreville Ramp to drop in and do a shakedown.Ken worked today,I think he's going out later.ran from the ramp down river all the way to train trestle,a lot of patches of heavy fog,the open bay looked like pea soup,the motor ran excellent,happy about that,problems with a motor always weigh on your mind until remedied.     Kez

That sounds great Kez.  Yeah a motor is nothing to take lightly I would hate to have to paddle that turkey back to shore...

I was down there yesterday and it was the same deal.  Cloudy on the mainland, light fog on the island, and you couldn't see more then 75ft out on the sand.  Unless you were riding below the high tide mark, you couldn't see the water.
And not a fish to be found anywhere out front.
