Saturday 16th
« on: May 16, 2009, 07:25:58 PM »
Left Manasquan Inlet in the fog about 8:30, it was supposed to burn up by 9. Nope! Fog was as thick as my head. Tried my new bunker spoons, nothing. Soaked some bait, swam some bunkers, nothing. Too many boats moving at unsafe speeds, how can you do that when you can't see? Decided to get the heck out of there in one piece & live to fish another day. Came across a Sea Tow boat looking for another boat in the fog, good luck. On a positive note, there were bunker all over, snagged a bunch, nothing on them. It was cool to be able to hear the bunker breaking the surface all around the boat, but not actually being able to see them due to the fog, blindly casting into the mist, and snagging them. Heard the conditions got worse fast as the day went on. There will be better days when the weather and fish are in a better mood.  <'((((><

Good try Darren. I was out for only a little bit in the morning also. One of the guys didn't feel too good so we came back in. Wanted to head south out of the inlet and didn't make it too far till we turned around to come back in.  :P

Will try again tomorrow. Hopefully this fog will leave us before too long.

Fishing Dude Darren, Nice report. It was thick fog up North also, and only saw about 5-7 boats all day(one was tied to a channel marker).Every  body was  trying to get home safe.  t^

Good try!  Very cool fishing in fog like that!  Relaxing and peaceful...until you hear the hummm of an engine and can't see the other boat.
