Saturday headed out early to see if any flatties about. Stopped at a few local spots on the way east. Coupla just shorts on assorted baits as well as one right at 18 on a green/white 2oz spro. Christine was hooking up on sea robbins and I added a skate to the mix. A few drifts near the tip o da Hook were unproductive, so moved over outside close to the False Hook to a spot we did OK last year. 2 more shorties there then the wind came up. Got a little snotty as we moved back west; cleaned up in time to head up to the mother of all tailgates prior to Bruce at the Izod. Great show, late night, good times had by all.
Sunday slept in as we got back late from the concert, did a few things around the house and headed out with some clams and bunker for a magic hour back bay. Got there a little early so tried a few fluke drifts in the Triangle area; again a few shorts and no meat for the box. Got ready to set up for some bassesiz near sunset as the red lightning lit up the western sky Christine made the exec decision to hightail it back, where we found the moon tide too high to sneak back in under the bridge (stupid bridge!) We tied up at the Blue Rock and went in for a late dinner and a few drinks to wait out the lightning and tide.
Monday back at it early right to Romer looking for bunker on the way and ready to bust up some clams. Nothing doing as the weather was nice but the tide slacked high, no bite to speak of. Caught another flattie just under 18 on a chunky clam while swinging on the hook. Took a ride down the beach but not too far, didn't see any action, Christine wanted to pay a visit to her peeps so we headed over to Breezy Point where we found some birds working but only blues biting. Back to the NJ side, bug light area where it was a parking lot as expected and more shorts. Had about 6 with no keeps. Hit the KB hole and KP flats back in with only sea robbins to show for it.
Still a great 3 days in a row on Ya Sista'z A$$. Trying to get back out there tonight to see who's home....
