Becareful of Submerged Obstructions
« on: June 21, 2009, 12:58:04 AM »
Becareful of submerged obstructions, have seen a lot of debris floating just below the surface in Raritan/Sandy Hook Bay.

Also some of the fish traps out near the candle sticks have their markers floating below the surface when the tide is running.

In the Shrewsbury river at the mouth near Sandy Hook Bay Marina is a trap buey in the channel near the bulkhead.

Be safe

Great info Capt Bob!

This isn't just a warning for the boaters, either.  Surf pounders need to keep an eye out as well.  If it is floating around, it has a good chance to end up in the surf somewhere.  Last thing you want to do is get hit with a tree and a 4 foot wave.  Certainly will be a widow maker!

Be safe out there!

Thanks Capt Bob. It's like a mine field out there. Everything is coming down from the rivers with all this rain.
