Got a call from Donnie last night that he wanted to find the fluke. Short morning trip was in order. Capt Don Jr, Capt Don Sr, neighbor Jim (the weatherman) and I met at 6:00 sharp. Beeline to some skinny water a swing and a miss. No one else home. Rock piles were looking promising with a handful of boats in sight Sea Hawk, Misty M and others. Shorties over the rails. Jim (aka Al Roker)was in constant contact with his hand held giving us animated storm tracking. All kidding aside, pretty handy little app. We skirted it all but there were moments when it looked ominous (wow, that's a big word). Moved around the back to the flats area and boxed a keep, threw back many shorts. Bucktail with either dressed minnow or just squid seemed to be the ticket. When they were hitting, it was agressive! Capt D Sr. worked his miaggi magic on putting special incisions on the squid tails.... I think we'll call it the triple threat technique. Waited out the change in tide and hugged a drift that produced. The weatherman got caught nappin a couple times as he was checking for live updates on the occluded fronts
. There was a nice fish he connected with that well.... what can you say, never experienced the pleasure of nylon abrasion. Damn that hurts.... Capt D. Jr. had ample gear to change over all the bucktails on four rods. Chartruese was the ticket.. We wrapped just after 12:30 with four keeps. 18.5-20"
Another good day on the water! Thanks guys.
