I had the pleasure of having John and Marty, two very experienced anglers out today for a capt combo ocean trip. I had some concern for the forcasted south wind but the seas were fine. There was a little slop around 8am but it fell right back out. They guys had a nice pick of quality seabass with 10 over 17" and 35 total keepers. Really it was drop and reel and I could not cut bait fast enough to keep up with these guys. If it was still a 12 inch size limit this would be the best fishing in years. Now we just say its a nice pick of keepers with few a hundred shorts
After boxing enough tasty fillets of seabass we headed to the bay for some light tackle fluking. After seeing the buoy's laying on there sides from the moon tides the last few days I stayed away from the deep water. First stop Marty had one on before I shut the motor off. The guys nailed 34 fluke with 1 19" keeper. The shorts range from 10inch postage stamps to nice 17.5" fish. A real nice spread. Its only gonna get better. Catch em up all
