Had Z'obsession out after the repair work on the tank. All patched up
Props go to Schultz for the major assist and to Don Sr. for the stamp of approval and the eagle eye on residual bilge liquid
. Picking up on last Sunday's theme of making it out to the deeper water, SH Snake etc, Capt's Don Jr, Don Sr and I broke the SH bay around 7:00. Plan.... work a high top area in NY harbor to see if the big ones were laying up.... Willing to do the 21" thing but same situation there as NJ... shorts, shorts and more shorts. Out the Ambrose and toward the Jersey side there were bunker everywhere. And you know how the plan goes... it gets altered a little. So, we snagged a bunch of bait and dropped lines in place looking for a peel off. Not today. By eleven we are on the SH reef and had a steady pick of flatties only sacrificing one spro. Don Jr. picked up some outstanding asian eels that are durable as they come. Skin on them like a football. Things hung tough through three or four fluke without a hitch. We boxed 3 keeps with none of any size to brag about. Moved over to the snake to see if any bigger ones were around. The area produced a fair amount of seabass with a mix of flatties (again more shorts). Probably should have anchored up but stayed on the drift. Ended up boxing 7 seabass before we headed back to port.
Great day with some of the best weather conditions in long while. Another tastee adventure
