Sunday 7/19 Fluking...
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:13:42 PM »
Hit the water with Ray-Rod and Mr. Bob Dopolina. Had plans to stay in the bay on a hunch ( which never works out). Perfect drift right off the bat, outgoing w/west breeze. Plenty of shorts, one 18.5 keeper and enough trash fish to keep us busy.
After that, it fell apart. Breeze shifted slightly on every drift and no two drifts were the same. Bounced around CHH, the Knoll, the Sticks and between the channels. Ended up by 3pm with the lone keeper from the first drift. On the plus side, found a nice mussel/shell bed in the bay that had small c-bass on it that may pan out the future, we'll see.
LOADS of bunker everywhere we went. Pod after pod working on the surface . Nice to see them that thick.
Usual baits- squid/spearing/killies/asorted gulp/bunker strips. Lone keeper on a 2 oz glo Spro.
Great crew made up for the lack of keepers. Breaking balls, plenty of laughs and these guys come prepared. They make launching/loading a breeze, thanks boys!!
