Got a call from T-bone looking to fish Sunday AM. Both of us had commitments with the families early afternoon. Met down at Keyport marina at 6:00, fueled up and made way to a couple of spots in the reach. I had first dibs on fish but none to put in the box for the entire morning. Drifts were excellent but the fish were picky at best. T-bone worked his magic double fisting it. Spro on one with jingle bells on the other. Spro happened to impale itself into a nice 22" flattie that went into the ice chest. Haven't seen many take the spro yet this year, most of the fish have been on the teaser. This one managed to get both the srpo and stinger... Excellent morning with good light wind, sunny skies and great company. Can't ask for much more. We headed back to the skinny water to see if anyone was home. A couple of shorts but other than that it was a slow pick in there also. Water quality was not the best. Close to home we turned bow into the channel and tied her down cleaned a fish and rinsed the salt off the T-bone.
We'll get it next time...
