Nothing to report, just a question.
« on: July 23, 2009, 05:27:03 PM »
I have noticed as I was driving down the road into the park, some side roads leading into the woods on the BAY side of the Park.

Do they allow car access to this side of the park or is it only the ocean side open? I wouldn't mind giving the bay side a shot sometime.

Anyone?

Only roads on the bay side that are "car access" is the the kayak launch...which is for just that.
You can walk down some of them, like the launch, bird blind or Reeds Road for fishing.
The kayak launch is a short walk, but doesn't have much access to fish at high tide.
Reeds road is a long walk, but has a lot of waterfront accessible.
Bugs on the bayside might be bad this time of year.

A lot of people who fish, crab or clam the bay side there in IBSP usually wade out and walk the area.  I tried fishing the Kayak Launch one night with no luck at all.  The guys who had their waders and were walking that general area did the best.  I have never tried, but it might be interesting during the day at lower tide 5hrug.

The only area you can drive and park is I believe A15 on the bay side.  There is limited parking and you have to watch out at high tide sometimes.  Many launch kayaks off there but I seem to like A21 the best.

I hope you have stock in bug spray as you will need it big time.

Happy Catching
