Fishguts 7/25 wreck report
« on: July 27, 2009, 08:09:08 AM »
Sorry for the late report but lets just say MAJOR COMPUTER ISSUSES :'( On  Sat I had the pleasure of having Mike and Alison(members of this site) out for some inshore wreck fishing. We were greeted at the inlet with flat calm seas but a forcast of strong afternoon winds. Due to the poor fluking of late out of Barnegat we encountered many more boats wreckfishing than we usually see this time of year. It was great to have 2 fisherpersons like Mike and Alison out. Even with the extra running and shifting of the boat they were always ready to drop there baits right on time. These two fished hard and really earned there catch in some deteriorating conditions. With some seabass in the box and winds and seas building we left the seabass grounds in search of some blackfish. The only problem was  we encountered a nasty 2 knot North/South current that has been plaguing some of the inshore grounds lately. Again  my hat gos off to these 2  for fishing hard in some down right poor conditions slt.  The blackies really did not want to bite with all the current but these anglers stayed right at the rail and Mike managed to land (1) 14" keeper. I owe Alison 1 jumbo blackie before the season ends ;D. At the end of a wind shortened day Mike and Alison finished with 25 keeper seabass ,3 nice ling, and 1 blackfish to make a nice bag of fillets. Love to sea what these guys can do  on a full day of nice conditions ;D. Once again I think I enjoyed myself as much as the charter. Thanks guys fo a great day. Pic to follow  I hope. Good luck and catch them up
