A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for your County
effective until 9 PM Friday July 31, 2009. Please refer to the watch
County notification /wcn/ product for a specific County listing.
This watch means that conditions are favorable for the development
of severe thunderstorms. The National Weather Service considers a
thunderstorm to be severe if it produces straight-line winds of 58
mph or more, hail at least 3/4-inch in diameter /penny size/, or a
tornado.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be issued for your area if a
threat is imminent. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued for
specific locations, so listen carefully to NOAA Weather Radio all
hazards or your favorite media source to hear if your area will be
in the path of the severe thunderstorm.

The following are thunderstorm safety rules: delay or postpone
outdoor activities if a thunderstorm is imminent. This is your best
way to avoid being caught in a potentially dangerous situation. If
you are caught outside, move to a sturdy building or car. If in a
car, do not park under a tree, as lightning and strong winds can
cause the tree to fall. Do not take shelter in small sheds, under
isolated trees, or in convertible automobiles. Stay away from tall
objects such as towers, fences, telephone poles, and power lines. If
no shelter is nearby, find a low spot away from trees, fences, and
poles. Make sure the place you pick is not subject to flooding. If
you are in the Woods, take shelter under the shorter trees.

If you feel your skin tingle or your hair stand on end, a lightning
strike is imminent. Squat low to the ground, place your hands
over your head and your head between your knees. Make yourself the
smallest possible target and minimize contact with the ground. Do
not lie flat on the ground. If you are boating or swimming, get to
land and find shelter immediately. If you are in a boat and can not
get to land, lower fishing rods, and other tall objects. Stay in a
dry spot if possible and do not touch electrical or metal objects.

If indoors, unplug any appliance that will not be used until the
storm passes. Also, use electronic equipment for obtaining weather
information only. Do not take a Bath or a shower. Only use the
telephone in an emergency. Stay away from windows.

Friday has always been eating out night in our house as well. Going to Champps in Edison and then taking the kids to see Transformers II. After this day I need a cold one.

I don't like to eat out too much and the kids just don't tolerate the wait either.  I need to dial 1-800-BABYSITTER to be able to eat out and enjoy it .  We were going to pack the cooler with some burgers and dogs and hit a bike trail for some exercise and views, but not with that forecast.

Just spent the last hour or so in Rivollis on Fischer during the storm, WOW WHAT A STORM! Lights went out about 5 times, FOOD was awesome and now I am home to see the damage. Pool is FULL of branches and leaves.

TO MY amazement my patio umbrella was launched OVER the house and landed on the front lawn. WOW! Some wind!!

As we walked into Rivolli's you could see the clouds coming in from the distance and they definetly had a SPIN to them, which I have always been told is a sure sign of tornado activity, but I dont think anything happened. Anyone hear?

I drove around out neighborhood and was surprised at how many trees and big limbs are down across the roadways.  I had to go down several streets just to get out of the area we live in to a main road.

The Fire Dept's in TR are going crazy to block off streets with trees down across them.  This was a pretty bad blow but it could of been worse if the tornado they had the warning out for earlier hit close by.

I will agree about the food at Rivollis, EVERYONE walked out with leftovers! Well not me, but I had something different than everyone else.

Good place, will be a repeat customer.

Great food in there!  I have lots of favorites from there...Chicken Paradise, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Sicilian Baked Pasta...just to name a few ! 

I just wish they had a bigger place because they get really busy and waits end up over an hour or more.
