Fished on Saturday with my brother in law Witches Bru. Fueled up at AH and witnessed the armada fishing the Leonardo tournament and stayed as far away as possible. Touched down at the Ambrose to crazy current. 10oz on heavy sticks just wasn't cutting it so left right away. Headed to skinny water between the channels with not a touch but one short. South candlestick had fewer boats as the majority of the head boats and weekenders littered the SH channel and around the tip. Had very good drifts sliding from NY toward the SH beach producing fish on every drop. All shorts with some just a fraction shy of making the number. Waited for near slack before heading back to the Ambrose where fish needed inticing to take the bait. Salted Pnutz still worked their magic but the keeps came on a traditional drag bait setup with Chartruese 4" gulp and tandem live killies. Managed to back off to 6oz caught about a dozen more fish and boxed two. Called it a day at 2:30 when the tide started to rip again.
A good day with Roger, nice weather, decent fishing. Till next time.
