Had a transient slip at Monmouth cove for the weekend launched on Friday around 5pm in Keyport got to the marina at 6pm DRENCHED! Hit the Flukemasters Capt Meeting at 7:30 and went home to get some ZZZZ's up at 4am met the crew at the boat at 5am loaded up and headed down to Leonardo around 5:45am at 6:15am We ran striaght to the rocks... A few shorts in a fast drift is all we got. Brought the boy close to shore to see if anything was going on and ran in to a bunch of crashing blues... Played with them to wake the guys up and then back to the Fluke. Tried the rattlesnake and the rocks agin with nothing going on. We worked our way up the beach and NADA! Hit Ambrose around 12ish and managed 5 keepers and a ton of shorts before running in around 3:30pm Total for the day was 8 Blues 10-14lbs, 7 Sea Bass, 5 Keeper fluke to 23" s a couple dog fish and a couple robins and a bunch of shorts. Went back to the boat around 11am on Sunday with a buddy and a ton of left over bait. Stopped at the hole in Keansburg on our way to pull the boat in Keyport and managed 4 shorts in about 20 minutes. Ran off Union Beach and lightning was ON... Shot in to Keyport to yank the boat and the heavens opened and got DRENCHED AGAIN... Nice weekend of fishing now I just have to get over this cold!
Seeya on the water!
