I had the pleasure of joining Capt Mike McConlogue
and Capt Mike Plattti on the Tuna Tic for a 24 hr off shore run.
The game plan was to run out to the Hudson Canyon, But that was changed do to the fact that not much was happening out there other than small Yellow Fin, So we made our stop at the Glory Hole in the Finest Seas you could ask for. The ocean looked like a Puddle in the street after a heavy rain fall
We arrived at the hole early evening to no action from anyone.. talk was cheap on the radio and the bite was off from the GH to the Hudson.
As night fell we set up for sharks to await the morning Tuna Bite. Capt Mike P kept the slick going all night.. and feeding it like a pro as the crew was in and out taking turns on some shuteye. The Night produced and great fight on a large brown Shark. and a just Missed Mako.
As the sun broke the flat sea, Mike was busy setting up the spreed, Soon under way we spotted 4 Large whales breaking the surface and as we got closer we noticed nice size Blue Fin chasing bait with them.. It wasn't long until we had our first of 2 hook ups. Nice fish the boys from Ohio got to reel in...One for the Box.. and one released.
On the Ride in Capt Mike stopped at a 40 Mile wreak and the boys played drop and reel with ling for about 2 hours.
I have some pretty neat footage I'm working on now.
