Had half-naked Eddie and Jeff aboard today. Started off at two of our usual spots. First spot produced all shorts. Second spot, I boxed a 23 1/2 inch fluke. Then it was all shorts.
Moved to the rocks and more shorts. Did manage several keeper seabass. Also had our share of skates and smooth doggies. One was saved for bait for tomorrow.
I was using a spro until it no longer held bottom. Tried changing the teaser and putting another spro on, but with the current, the rig came up tangled a lot. The drift itself was very slow for most of the day, read .1 to .2 MPH on my GPS.
Went over to dragging bait with Ed and Jeff. Nothing but shorts on the bait.
Today showed that you definately need the spros (or similar) to get the bigger fish in the rocks. I gotta get back to making the bigger ones now.
